Barneys Creative Director Simon Doonan Designs Halloween Costumes For Target
Fashionisto Simon Doonan was born to design Halloween costumes. That’s precisely why the Barneys Creative Director — who was born on All Hallows Eve — has landed himself a new gig designing a line of Halloween costumes for Target!
The collection, dubbed Costume Couture, includes costumes embroided with wacky phrases like “Witches with Attitude,” “Trick or Trend,” and “Chic or Treat.”
“The holiday is huge and it’s growing. That’s why [Target] yodeled in yours truly.”
Simon says the collection was inspired by the phenomenon that is reality TV.
“People on reality TV get to be exhibitionists. I thought of The Situation and those boys from Jersey Shore when I did the T-shirt for the Pumpkin Punk Rocker costume,” Doonan revealed in a chat with Women’s Wear Daily Tuesday.
Doonan’s Costume Couture goes on sale at Target.com Aug. 27 and at Red Dot retailers nationwide Sept. 12. Kids costumes will retail for $25, while adults’ costumes are priced at $30. Even Rover can get in on the family fun! Dog costumes are priced at just $9.99.
