Burberry Shuts Down Chinese Factory

Burberry has launched an investigation into their factory in China. Workers at the Tai Yi Sheng factory claim they work twelve-hour shifts through the night-a breach of China’s little enforced laws.

British Union boss Mervyn Burnett says:
“I find it disgusting, though not surprising. While British workers who helped who helped make Burberry the success it is are make redundant, Chinese workers are being exploited for profit”
A spokesperson for Burberry said:
“Chinese law does not allow shifts of more than 11 hours”
“If we discover that a factory has workers doing over time beyond the legally allowed hours, we would work with them to change this”
