Victoria Beckham was in Duesseldorf, Germany yesterday in order to do some promotional work for her latest collection of dVb Jeans. She was at Jades Boutique. Victoria’s really being a lot more pro-active in her promotions for her line ever since she started getting dropped earlier this year for low sales.
Victoria Beckham isn’t known for smiling and acknowledging the paparazzi, but promoting her dVb line in London must be going well because she was all smiles today when the cameras caught her leaving her hotel. She should have started promoting her own denim line sooner, it looks like it agrees with her!
Well. Maybe Victoria Beckham really did take a cue from Lauren Conrad who self-promotes by wearing items from her Lauren Conrad Collection. With sales of dVb being down recently, it seems that Ms. Posh is finally getting back on track and wearing some of her own line from time to time. She was seen in London twice while wearing dVb jeans, one pair in soft pink and the other in dark blue with a boot cut flare. She also wore sunglasses from her own line.
Much better! After all, why would anyone else want to wear your line if you don’t even wear it, right?
Victoria Beckham is currently suing the company that makes her dVb line of denim for $100 million. The company in question, Rock & Republic, is being sued for a loss of earning by Victoria. Interesting. This same company, much like Kitson, have mentioned in the past that Victoria has not done enough promotion for her own line of clothing, so it will be interesting to see how this plays out - things could get ugly.
It looks like Victoria Beckham was listening when complaints rolled out that she’s letting her own dVb denim line by not promoting it in any way. Yesterday she was spotted at Kitson to help draw attention to dVb. Kitson’s owner had recently stated that although the store was not planning to drop dVb yet, Victoria was not doing herself any favors by not taking an active role in her own line.
It’s good to see her responding so quickly.

It seems that Victoria Beckham’s dVb denim line is really not selling very well and although it hasn’t been completely dropped yet, a representative from Kitson boutiques is blaming Victoria’s lack of motivation for the slump. Kitson owner Fraser Ross has said that part of the problem is that Victoria is not doing anything to support her own line. “It’s not good for her brand and not good for her endorsements. In a tough economy, you need to be in partnership with the people that are selling your line to your fans. That’s the bottom line.” He also stated that it’s very discouraging and frustrating that although Victoria only lives a short distance from the store, she can’t be bothered to come in to promote it and help boost sales.
For now, Kitson is holding on to the dVb denim line, but how much longer?
When she’s not “performing” with The Spice Girls, Victoria Beckham is busy working on promoting her DVB Jeans. She was in Boston for the tour, and took the opportunity to go pose in her denim at Saks.
