It’s not unusual for your average person to wear the same outfit frequently since we don’t all have walk-in closets bigger than most school gymnasiums. I’ve been known to wear the same pair of jeans twice a week, sometimes three times. But if you’re Heidi Montag, you have your very own Heidiwood clothing line, and you have several public appearances to make, wouldn’t you go to some sort of effort to avoid wearing the exact same Chloe dress and exact same pair of shoes (especially when the shoes in particular were really freakin’ ugly)?
Heidi promoted her Heidiwood line at Kitson at the beginning of the week, and then showed up only days later at the White House Correspondents Dinner in exactly the same outfit.
If I had a whole bunch of clothing at my disposal like Heidi Montag I wouldn’t be wearing the same outfit twice in one week to very heavily photographed events.
Although NYMag.com described the Heidiwood line as “it’s bad. So sad”, it seems that Heidi Montag still has a market for her clothing.
Heidi, with Spencer Pratt at her side, launched Heidiwood at Kitson on Saturday and was greeted by a crowd of screaming, crying girls, all eager to buy something. The entire line was nearly completely sold out in one day, with the infamous zebra print shirts being the first to go - be on the lookout for zebra stripes all over Los Angeles.
You can scream and cry at your computer while you shop for Heidiwood clothing at Kitson.com.
(At least Kitson won’t have to worry about Heidi pulling a Victoria Beckham and needing to be called out to promote - Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt love the limelight, they’re sure to promote Heidiwood for all of eternity.)
Will we get to see Heidi Montag working on her Heidiwood collection on the new show she’s been pitching to MTV? Heidi, along with sometimes-boyfriend Spencer Pratt, is trying to launch a new reality series that will follow the couple on their journey to marriage. The entire series would lead up to the two marrying and will feature a lot of dress designers, wedding planners, and even (shock!) Lauren Conrad. Do you think that Lauren will try to design a dress for Heidi only to have Heidi freak out and make her own Heidiwood Bridal Line?
While Heidi Montag was busy “rapping” for Nelly on TRLyesterday, she was also doing a bit of self-promotion. While it’s not her self-proclaimed favorite zebra print, she did wear a black and white striped dress from her new Heidiwood collection. I have to say, I really like this dress - it’s very cute and stylish without being over the top.
Heidi Montag hit the runway herself with her Heidiwood for Anchor Blue line. She strutted like a pro runway model, telling people.com that she felt completely at home out there under the lights as she showed off her Heidiwood line. She said, ““I feel so good and it’s so fun to be up there [on the runway], and it was just an amazing night and everything really came together so this is just such an awesome night.”
When asked for a summary of the Heidiwood style, she said you’ll find a lot of zebra print. “I’m obsessed with it, and when I was doing my line, I was doing things that inspired me and things that I wish I could find in clothes. So I was like I love zebra print. There’s not enough out there, and so I really wanted to incorporate that in little details.”
Heidi recently made a not-so-subtle dig at Lauren Conrad’s line, The Lauren Conrad Collection, stating that her own Heidiwood line would be more affordable for anyone to buy - her pieces are all under $50 each.
