Fergie has become the newest face behind (in front of?) MAC’s Viva Glam campaign. Viva Glam helps to raise money for HIV/AIDS Awareness and has raised over $100 million since 1994. Fergie is hoping that she can help educate young people in her fan base about the dangers of HIV/AIDS and had this to say:
“[MAC is] going toward one demographic, and I think I can be very helpful with that,” Fergie added. “I know certain people who are very proud of having unprotected sex and the fact that they haven’t caught anything yet.”

The always lovely Dita Von Teese was on hand to mark a milestone for the MAC AIDS Fund - the company raised 100 million dollars to help fight HIV and AIDS around the world. The money represents the sale, over the past 13 years, of more than 7.1 million VIVA GLAM lip products - of which 100 percent of the sale price has gone to the Fund.
The MAC AIDS Fund was established in 1994 to support men, women and children affected by HIV/AIDS globally.
The inaugural VIVA GLAM spokesperson was performer RuPaul. Since then, there have been others who have joined ranks, including k.d. lang, Mary J. Blige, Elton John, Shirley Manson, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott, Boy George, Linda Evangelista, Chloe Sevigny, Christina Aguilera, Pamela Anderson, Debbie Harry and Lisa Marie Presley.
Currently the faces of the MAC AIDS Fund are R&B artist Eve and the always divine Ms. Dita.

Dita Von Teese will be treating her fans to a little something special under the tree this holiday season. Von Teese has joined forces with lingerie giant Frederick’s Of Hollywood for its’ holiday ad campaign, where she’ll star in Frederick’s Pin-Up Parade brochure and commercials - all inspired by vintage lingerie items worn by goddesses of earlier years.
What took so long for these two icons of pop culture to fuse together? Honestly, when I think about it, they go together like matching shoes and a handbag!
Says Dita:
“As a longtime fan of the history of the Frederick’s brand, it’s a great honour to be chosen to represent the company by appearing as the star of the 2007 Holiday Pin-Up Parade. Frederick’s Of Hollywood has been giving women the accoutrements they desire to bring glamour and sensuality into their lives by offering a wide selection of both the elegant and the risque since 1946. I’m proud to be the face of such a legendary institution of lingerie!”
Drawing inspiration from the company’s own line of lingerie in the 1940’s, Frederick’s catalog will feature Von Teese in sexy shots such as a feather fan dance and ski bunny pin-up scenes.
Frederick’s creative director, William Ford, seems to be almost as much of a Dita fan as I am (smart guy, that Mr. Ford):
“Dita is a perfect fit for Frederick’s Of Hollywood. Her retro-glam style and persona highlight Frederick’s iconic brand and rich Hollywood heritage. The catalogs featuring this burlesque legend will be a collector’s item for years to come.”
The Pin-Up Parade is Dita’s first print collaboration with a lingerie company and a historical landmark for Frederick’s; in the company’s 60 year history, this is the first campaign to feature a celebrity on the cover of the catalog. The catalogs went to print in limited quantities and were distributed on November 5th, however a second version will be available November 26th - just in time to kick off the post Thanksgiving shopping season.
Dita’s been a busy girl the last few months - not only is she repping Frederick’s, but she’s also the new spokesmodel for MAC’s Viva Glam lipstick.
