Chris Pine is currently one of the hottest celebrities thanks to his incredible portrayal of Captain James T. Kirk in the new Star Trek film – and even GQ has noticed.

Chris did a photo spread for the GQ Summer Suit Primer and let me just say that a suit has never looked so good.

Inside, he also talked about the weight of having to take on a role as epic as Kirk and trying not to piss off the Trekkie fans.

You weren’t much of a Trekkie, we hear.
I was a Star Wars kid. The kitsch factor in the original Star Trek series is high, but the show manages to take on these huge questions about race, sex, and war. I have a great appreciation for what Mr. Shatner did with the part. There’s a gravity to it, but he’s having fun.

Surely tiptoeing around the rabid fan base—calling him “Mr. Shatner” and all that—must get old?
The amount of dissection of the minutiae of this movie…I was blown away by the protectiveness. I’m definitely guilty of looking at the blogs, and I’m not a fan of the anonymity [of the Internet], how it allows people to just spew poisonous vitriol like vomit.

He won’t get any vitriol from me. He’s an excellent actor, he played Kirk better than I ever could have hoped, and the man is so freakin’ hot that I would never EVER kick him out of bed for eating crackers.
