Drew Barrymore’s two-tone hair at TIFF
Drew Barrymore showed up for the 2009 Toronto International Film Fest for her new film, Whip It! and was sporting two-tone hair. Two-tone in a really obvious way.
This isn’t a unique trend, it was once popular back in… I think it was possibly the mid-1990’s if I’m not mistaken. It was common to see someone with a very obvious strip of contrasting color on the bottom two inches of her hair. It was occasionally dark hair with a light strip, but most often it was just like Drew’s hair, light with a very dark strip, giving it a look you would expect to see if you dipped your hair in ink.
I was never crazy about it when it first came into style so I never bothered to copy it myself. I’m not a fan of it this time around either. I love Drew for her quirkiness in general, even when it translates in her style and wardrobe, but this hair style isn’t doing it for me. Luckily it doesn’t distract from the fact that she’s still ridiculously pretty and adorable, but hopefully she’ll go back to one color soon!
What do you think of Drew’s two-tone hair?
