Elizabeth Taylor arrived at Gearys in Beverly Hills over the weekend to unveil her own House of Taylor jewelry collection. 

Taylor’s jewely is sold worldwide.  Among items in her private collection have been a 33 carat Krupp Diamond ring, a La Peregrina pearl, Taj Mahal heart shaped yellow diamond necklace, the Duchess of Windsor diamond brooch, and a pear shaped 69 carat Taylor-Burton diamond, which Taylor sold to fund a hospital. Many of Taylor’s jewels were bought for her by Richard Burton and have since been sold or auctioned to help fund the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.

Over at Variety, Liz Smith reported that security guards at Gearys had some pre-Taylor jitters as they expected hordes of fans to attend the event: 

“We have barricades, right?”
