Emma Watson Lancome Endorsement Deal
Emma Watson is the new face of Lancome cosmetics…now if she could just grow her hair back fast enough to get acting work!
“It’s so exciting, I can’t wait to start shooting. Although I don’t wear much makeup, I’m a big fan of Lancome products, especially their mascara,” the Harry Potter star says of her new gig, announced by the cosmetics brand on Tuesday.
The British-born, American-educated Watson, 20, joins older sweethearts like Julia Roberts and Uma Thurman as the makeup and skincare brand’s newest beauty. Emma’s first Lancome ads will be shot by celebrity photog Mario Testino. She’ll also star in TV advertisements for the company.
Meanwhile, the post-Potter pixie hasn’t lasted long for Emma. After a brief stint enjoying the Twiggy look, the Harry Potter star is trying to grow her long locks back – so she can get more acting work. Watson celebrated her emancipation from the Harry Potter franchise by chopping off her hair last year after almost a decade of being contractually obliged to keep it long while playing her signature role: Hermione Granger.
“I am trying to grow it but it’s slow, it’s taking a while obviously,” Emma told Elle Magazine at the 2011 Style Awards in London this week. “If I want to keep acting then it’s more flexible for me to have it longer for different roles, it’s quite a specific cut. I’m kind of looking forward to getting to a cute little bob stage.”
