According to Variety, director Ridley Scott will command a new film that follows the history of the Gucci family through the last 30 years. The film will trace the history of the Gucci family, who are reportedly known for their power struggles and fighting among family members. 

Sources say chances are the film will focus on the life of Maurizio Gucci, who took over the fashion empire in 1983 and reigned until his death in 1995, when he was shot just before a fashion show, which was hosted by fashion designer, Tom Ford. 

Maurizio’s ex-wife, Patrizia Reggiani, was later convicted of plotting the murder.
