Forget the politics. There’s enough of that on other blogs. This is a style blog so we’ll leave drilling for oil and tax cuts for someone else. Let’s ignore what Sarah Palin stands for and whether or not you agree with her. Instead, let’s talk about the fact that Alaska governor and potential Vice-President of the United States Sarah Palin is quickly becoming a style icon.

Just like the way that everyone looked at Jackie Onassis Kennedy for fashion guidance, with women everywhere donning her pillbox hats, gloves, and pearls, now Sarah Palin is creating a similar sensation.

According to reports, women are rushing to their eye care specialists for larger, rectangular, rimless glasses just like the ones that Palin wears. Hairdressers are saying that more women are asking to have their hair styled in her strategically “messy” up-do. And people can’t stop talking about the way that Palin shuns Hillary Clinton’s traditional pants suit in favor of skirts, blouses, blazers, and sexy high heeled shoes.

There’s no doubt that Sarah Palin is hot – she’s even known as “America’s hottest governor”. Will she make it to the Oval Office with John McCain? Who knows? But I do know people will be just as interested in seeing what she’s wearing at every appearance as they will be in the words coming out of her mouth.
