Fashion designer Jackie Christie has co-authored the book, ‘No Ordinary Love’ with her husband NBA star Doug Christie, and has joined the literary line up for the upcoming “Divas of Literature Tour.” The Christies, who are starring in BETJ’s reality series, “The Christies Committed,” released their first book, ‘No Ordinary Love: A True Story of Marriage and Basketball,’ in June 2007.

Says Jackie:

“I’m extremely happy and excited to have been chosen to join the Divas of Literature tour for 2008! And, I look forward to helping all the beautiful divas make it a wonderful experience for everyone.” 

Jackie Christie began her career as a fashion model at the age of 13 with a primary focus on runway and print. In pursuit of her dream, Jackie continued to hone her skills as both a model and a fashion designer and went on to open her own clothing boutique in Seattle, Washington.  Jackie continued to maximize on her creative talent, resulting in the development of Jackie Christie Incorporated.

She met her future husband, NBA star Doug Christie, in 1992 and they married four years later. The book chronicles the Christies’ relationship and offers a candid view of their journey through the NBA.

During the summer of 2008, the “Divas of Literature Tour” will make stops at malls in North Carolina, Philadelphia, Detroit, Atlanta, and Los Angeles, beginning July 26 and ending September 6, 2008. There have been talks about an added special appearance in New York City after the initial five cities. Selected authors will be featured in five malls across America signing books, reading excerpts and mingling with readers. Raffle drawings and various giveaways will also be available to readers and book club members who attend the festive event.
