Although Lauren Conrad has enjoyed some success with the Lauren Conrad Collection right now her clothing line is being put on hold.
Shipments for her Spring and Summer line have been canceled and Lauren is currently re-thinking her entire collection.
One of her reps explained the reason for the hiatus:
“In light of the economic climate, Lauren has decided to completely rethink her line. Lauren is going to revamp her line and design with more high-end fabrics . . . things she couldn’t do the first time around.”
“With everything going on in the economy and in her life, she wants to rework her line and offerings. She will make announcements soon.”
I’m confused though. There’s an economic crisis so she’s going to create clothing with high end fabric? How does that make any sense? If there’s an economic crisis and people are less willing to spend a ton of money on clothing, wouldn’t it be better for her line if she creates some affordable pieces for real people to purchase?
I’ve never made it a secret that I am not a Heidi Montag fan, but at least her Heidiwood line is full of choices that won’t break your wallet. Lauren’s clothes are very nice but they were already pricey – how much more are they going to cost if she’s going high-end?!
