Lyric Jeans has entered into a licensing deal with series producer FremantleMedia to launch an apparel line very literally inspired by ‘American Idol.’
The juniors line will launch in February 2008, in conjunction with the reality competition’s seventh season.
The debut collection will feature tops, jackets, jeans, pants and dresses-each engraved with song lyrics that have been featured prominently on ‘American Idol.’
Prices range from $10 to $40 and will be sold at midrange department stores and mass retailers.
“The idea is to enable girls to feel like they are a rock star or an American Idol,” says Lyric president Hanna Rochelle Schmieder.
Hanna continued: “American Idol is the most powerful and iconic music brand in popular culture today and the perfect tie-in for our creative concept,” she said. “We couldn’t have dreamt of a better partner. Now music and fashion lovers everywhere can feel like a pop star and express themselves through our lyric-driven brand.”
