Miss California lost the crown, now may lose title

First Carrie Prejean lost out on her chance to be Miss USA – now she may lose the Miss California title as well.
She made waves when she stated to Perez Hilton that she believes marriage is meant to be between a man and a woman and does not support gay marriage. There was an immediate backlash and she still believes that she lost the crown because of her views.
This time she’s in hot water because of her body, not her opinions. Four racy photos of Carrie posing topless in her underwear are currently being circulated and officials are deciding whether or not they should disqualify her as a holder of the title and sash declaring her Miss California.

Miss USA owner Donald Trump said that he is going over the facts and a judgment could be made by today. If they decide her photos make her an inappropriate candidate for the sash, she could be stripped of her title.
Look, I’ll be honest – I fully support gay marriage and gay rights so I don’t like Carrie in any way. Still, I have to say that this both amuses and confuses me. The one photo I’ve seen (above) is fairly tasteful and isn’t any more explicit than your average lingerie catalog. It’s not like she posed for Hustler. Isn’t it kind of strange that in a competition where you’re judged partly on the way you look in a bikini and can be reprimanded for gaining too much weight, you can still be ostracized for posing topless in photos that were taken long before the competition?
