It’s been in talks since 2001 but now Prada’s CEO Patrizio Bertelli is saying that soon Prada will be ready to set their stocks loose on the public. To quote:

“We are heading toward a new era in the company’s history, with solid development potential on the basis of strong momentum already shown by our results in the first semester of 2007.”

Although there’s no official date set yet, the stocks should be available on the Milan stock market by 2008 – then you can not only own Prada designs but part of Prada itself!
